Traditional Chinese Medicine

Traditional Oriental Medicine views the body as an interconnected system of physiological and psychological processes. This system can be positively or negatively influenced by diet, exercise, relationships, stress, and the environment. During the course of our lives, it is inevitable that these processes are challenged or compromised; this is when disease or problems may manifest.

The diagnostic approach of Oriental Medicine is geared towards revealing systemic weaknesses and obstructions in the body that have contributed to the onset of disease. The therapeutic strategy of Oriental Medicine is then to remove obstructions where necessary and to strengthen the body on a systemic level so that the body can begin to heal itself.

Chinese Herbal Medicine

The main treatment method within Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and is the world’s oldest, most continuously practiced, professional medicine. Its written history dates back 2,500 years and its practice is even older than that. Over 2,000 years ago, the Chinese had learned how to combine different herbs into complex formulas in order to enhance effectiveness and reduce side effects. Our herbal pharmacy consists of hundreds of individual herbs, which allow formulas to be tailored to your individual needs.

Herbs are helpful and recommended for those who are between medicated assisted reproductive techniques (ART) cycles, are about to embark on a medicated ART cycle, or want to conceive naturally but require supplementation in the area of follicular development or may have a luteal phase defect. Whatever the reason for infertility, endometriosis, PCOS, or the reasons mentioned above, Chinese herbs can harmonize systems in the body that are causing the underlying disorder.

Nutrition

We find when an appropriate diet is incorporated the benefits of treatment are seen much more readily. Collaborative Care offers individualized dietary suggestions in a way that’s creative and easy to implement. Food recommendations, recipes, and at times, ingredients are given to use at home. Most of Collaborative Care food plans are based on traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) to optimize an individual’s healing potential and ultimately fertility.
