The Golden Month
From a TCM perspective, child birthing involves a significant loss of qi (energy) and blood. It’s imperative that the new mother use this month to relax: eat nourishing, easily digestible foods, and bond with her baby.
Many women can develop temporary or intractable symptoms from a improper postpartum care. Some common complaints include migraines, hair loss, depression, arthritic pain, and constipation.
During the first postpartum month complete restoration is highly recommended.
